Observed Trends
In 2017, SC2 members assessed historical climate trends of interest to Seattle City Light for their reservoir management. The analysis, conducted by the University of Washington Climate Impacts Group (CIG), included information from weather stations, Snotel sites, and stream gauges and tracks metrics including precipitation, temperature, warm spells, cloud cover, snowpack, melt date, peak daily flow, and others.
UW Climate Impacts Group, with funding from Seattle City Light also developed an interactive online tool using the Tableau software that allows users to explore the data and to identify which trends are statistically significant. The tool is available online at:
